This heirloom snow pea dates back to before 1773. The sturdy 24-30” vines produce beautiful purple blossoms that turn into pale-green pods that are stringless and fiber-free. No staking required. The Dwarf Grey pea is well-suited for steaming or used in stir-fry. Plant early in spring when the ground is workable, 1-1 ½ inches deep, 1 inch apart. 65 days.

Dwarf Grey Sugar Snow Pea
The only thing true about this description is the color of the blossoms, lol. These pods are so woody that you can't eat them, even when very small. They most definitely have strings. The vines are now over my head and most definitely need a trellis. And even the seeds themselves aren't all that sweet, even when still quite small. They don't even look like snow peas. So either this is a case of wrong seed in wrong packet, or the peas have somehow become crossed over time. Further research indicates they are named "dwarf" not for their vine size, but for the size of the pod, which is short. I most definitely won't be saving seeds from them!
